Depending on availability of staff, teachers or assistants visit in the home and assist in developing techniques of daily living, homemaking, personal care, communication skills, and other specialized skills which make everyday life more effective.

Call for an application form, fill it out, have your Doctor verify it, and mail it back in.  The library will send braille books, books on cassettes, cassette players, and some large print magazines at no charge, and postage free.

A Special Needs Card allows patrons to check out books, magazines, audio books and tapes, and compact discs.  Materials will be picked up and delivered every 4 weeks.  Fines are not charged on overdue materials.  Borrowers are responsible for lost or damaged items.  Call to request an application.

The group holds monthly meetings, March through December.  7:30 P.M., the last Tuesday of the month.

Membership includes Regular Members who are visually impaired, and Associate Members.  Guests are welcome.  The group sponsors entertainment, speakers, and outings.

Adaptive Aids     Adaptive aids are devices that can assist a visually impaired person to experience a maximum amount of independence.  Magnifiers, talking clocks, large print calendars  and CRT terminals are just a few of the many items available to enhance the quality of life.

Legally blind residents are eligible to utilize local directory assistance service at no cost.  Call the customer service number for your telephone service provider.  They will send you an application form for your Physician to sign.
